I'm going to be looking for a new car within the next couple of years (a long way off, but it doesn't hurt to wonder). I really love Saabs, but I'm young and could use some variety. I've seen heavily modified Volvo T5's on turbobricks/youtube etc... What is the deal with these? Are they faster than 2.0t NG900s/9-3s stock? I like 850s/s70s because they are bigger and they don't look like they should be fast (sleepers).
Are Volvo engines fairly built up as Saabs are, in other words can they handle a lot of power without new pistons/internals?

Any experience/input would be great, it's really just a topic of interest for me.
