See post below. BMW makes a pretty good, long lasting car (I've owned several) but when they start going wrong they can be VERY expensive. With the miles this car has you are and the cusp of a lot of expensive repairs. You don't say what you're paying and that's a factor, but even if you got the car for free I think you'd find owning it a pretty expensive proposition over the next 4 years/60k. I've owned and sold all types of imported cars over the years and Saab is by far the cheapest to buy, own and maintain--and that includes VW. I used to have a dealership specializing in imported cars which typically had 100K or more. Even compared to a Honda, Toyota, or Subaru in that price/mileage range you get a lot more bang for the buck in a Saab (because the Japanese cars hold higher resale). When it comes to cheaps cars you get a lot more in a Saab (assuming it's in good condition to start)and it'll cost a lot less to keep it going. The pretige factor might suck you into buying a cheap MB/BMW/Audi but if you're on a budget, you'll soon rue the day.
