It's been a long time since we rented it... I had a second and googled some images... looks like there is precious little room for gear with all the seats up - we only used it with the back row down... seems like they made the compromise of trying to make the back seats really fit adults + in doing so compromised luggage room. Again, like the Mazda5, the seats are really close to the hatch... so, for me it's a 4 seater...
Overall, it didn't drive too badly for something that size. Much better than SUVs and minivans I've driven. Eg I had no trouble avoiding a deer with it. I'm really not into driving large vehicles. I find the og9-5 a little large and heavy... though not as much as the ford (and the 9-5 has many other redeeming qualities - a lot more enjoyable to drive than the Ford, but in a world of compromises, the Ford was not bad)...
see link for jalopnik take on it...
