Our youngest son spun out on ice with his GrandAm 3 weeks ago while entering a highway entrance ramp after visiting us. He backed his car out of the snow drift he struck and did a quick look for damage. He didn't see any then but noticed later that week, when approaching his car from a distance away in a parking lot, that the center portion of the bumper skin, beneath the license plate bracket and between the fog lights, was broken off and one fog light missing.
So one new aftermarket bumper skin, two new aftermarket fog lights (cheaper than a single factory light), two new headlamp assemblies (his old ones looked like they had spent the previous 13 years in a Sahara Sand Storm), one new driver's side front half of the front inner fender (old damage), and an air deflector that directs air from the low bumper inlets to the radiator.
The bumper skin got painted this week by a local body shop, and all parts but the air deflector got bolted and clipped to the car this morning. It looks like the two bolts which secure the deflector can only be accessed by removing the entire radiator from the car. The old deflector had one lower corner broken but no pieces missing. I guess that new part is going back.
The six bolts (3 per side) on the fender to bumper skin parting line in front of the wheel wells were a royal PITA to remove. I probably spent 2 of the four hours fighting with just those!
He wanted a new bumper skin installed as his B-day gift and it is now done. Whew!
