The APR/anticipator is something that I came up with thinking about what was happening. And from that, I feel quite confident that the mass of the ball in the MBC does not tackle this issue in any way or form. The time constant that you are fighting is the time to get the flow to get the pressure in the WGA up to the point where the WG starts to lift, then more flow to stroke and further increase pressures to get the WG open enough to not be overboosted. This impact of this time constant is relative to the boost rise time. Boost rise time is faster/shorter with mods and with colder weather. Under these conditions, the MBC is simply opeing too late to head off a boost overshoot. Note that the flow volumes required to open the WGA also are been bled off off via the bleed orifice at the same time.

The anticipator precharges the WGA with a regulated amount of pressure. An APR that you get from the hardware or automotive stores are very unsuitable for regulation at the low pressures required for this to work properly. And plastic components in the unit need to survive summer under the hood temps.

A MBC+A will greatly improve your availalbe power as you will be able to bring the steady state boost up close to the fuel cut.

Your post is confusing as to whether you are using a MBC or not.

If you are using a modified ECU and a BPC, and have overshoots and no fuel cuts, then a anticipator could remove the overshoots, but power would not be improved as the steady state boost would not increase.

Perhaps the BCP has become restricted. I don't recall reading about anything like this before. If the overboost is longer that one second, could the ECU have a built in period of overboost? Second gear in a NG900 is good right up to the fuel cuts if the tires are good. So I do not see a problem with 2nd gear getting that boost.
