You make a very good point regarding the stock turbo. I had a '97 Aero, stock, that for some reason ran exceptionally well....meaning that it help max boost, to the end of the red, through all gears. The bottom end was really powerful, as you mentioned about Matt's. The car was very quick in the mountains. I have often wondered why people don't take the approach that Matt did with his car. On balance, it make a lot of sense.
Me...Well, I am running a '97 CSE/anni auto, SQR stage3, 3" turbo back exhaust and ITG filter. Gets to 100 mph in about 13 sec. Point here is that it holds boost through the end of 3rd at 105mph.
