take any hose small vacum hose off preferably tward the center of the intake
get a long piece of vac hose & stick one end into a galon jug of water
start the car up get the other end of the hose & while gently reving the engine plug the water hose into the port on the intake you pulled the other hose off of
continue to gently rev the engine to keep it going untill the water is gone
if you let the engine stall you will just have to pull the plugs & dry them off
you wont bend any rods or anything this way
I have in the old days dumped cups of water down the throat of many a carburated engine verry agressivley & never had trouble I have had great sucsess running water theu engines
take care
