while i await an upgraded wastegate actuator for a 99 9-3 (nordic stage 3 , 3 inch dp , sport exhaust, mp ic) i have been pondering if there is any real difference between putting a stiffer spring in the actuator, shortening the wastegate rod ( although i understand if it is too short the wategate will be prevented from opening fully), installing an helper spring on the wastegate or putting a smbc on. they all basically do the same thing ,delay the wastegate from opening to a higher boost level.

using a smbc would allow an easy way to tweak the base boost will still allowing the ecu to control the boost at boost levels above the base boost limit.
i am attracted to putting my old dawes device either in the turbo to bpc hose or in the bpc to wastegate hose. is there any compelling reason to put it on one side or the other of the bpc? what is the effect of not plugging the bleed vent?
