Got to know one of the fellows who was trying to build a market for Militec. Best I can figure, the additive is an extreme pressure product designed for the barrels naval guns, and the carrier is synthetic base stock. He could never persuade me that I would gain enough to offset the additional cost since I was already using AMSOIL. He became an AMSOIL dealer in order to get the Series 2000 0W-30 at a better price. He then added the Militec<g>.
A friend races, using AMSOIL Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil. He tried Militec with that, and says he gets a few extra miles per hour at the end of the straightaway. In that application, the extra money is worth it.
Not really sure whether the increase is because of the extreme pressure additive, or because the carrier might be of lighter viscosity.
