What Stephen at Lesco told me when I was getting my motor done, was that if you are going to bore enough to make a noticable increase in displacement withough sleeving the block, the cylinder walls will be thin enough that they will push out during the compression stroke enough to increase the blowby to the point that you will actually lose power compared to what the engine made before boring it out!
Thus, they do now recommend boring simply for a power gain, max allowavle overbore for piston replacement is .040 over I think? Am I right on this?
The link at the bottom has Dave K a while ago aluding to some special forged pistons they have used for turbo'd 2.1L motors.
You're in really good shape if you get the compression lowered though, oyu already have the best head casting and cams for the setup, looks like it owuld just be a piston swap, some bearings, all the little stuff, and you're on the right track!
Good luck! Keep us informed with what you find out and decide to do.
