flywheel. I would immagine it would be very difficult for a new clutch disc to embed on a microscopically polished flywheel, this would create heat,with little friction. I would bet that if you took it out and resurfaced the flywheel you would be in good shape. Suck to have to do all that again, but this time it will go faster I'm sure.
I can tell you that my clutch is an entirely different animal now that it's broke in. It still grabs and chatters a bit, but I've managed to adapt my driving style to overcome this. My wife can drive the car and hardly notices it so that should tell you what it's like. It did take over 800 miles of stop and go driving before it settled down.
Also a stainless clutch line is a must. I had a new rubber one and you can actually feel it expand in diameter when the clutch is pressed.
the SPEC stg 1 that I have has no problem holding the power. I have SQR stg 3.
I think you'll be fine and have good results once the flywheel is finished.
