^^^^^ Your right, my mistake.
I took temp readings a while back in trying to find a location to place my K&N filter. I took readings behind the IC where the open K&N was. I took readings in the fender well and I took readings down next to the oil dipstick-this gave me a reading of 11 degrees cooler then anywhere else. I then constructed fittings coming off the AMM so filter would reside in this area which worked awesome (no flood zone in my area). I then had to have my car smogged and went back to stock. I found that the car was not as loud spool up wise, but it ran better. So I opened up the opening and constructed more pipes off of stock airbox and routed to spot mentioned above. Car ran even better on boost. So there is where I stand now. You can also take it a step furter and wrap round filter canister with high heat tape. Saab really had a pretty good idea of where to put stock box based on space, but them pulling air from feneder well was a mistake. Well maybe not a mistake, I'm sure they had to take snow and water in consideration.
