The fans were terrible! I stood in front of the car before the first pull to open the hood, the fans were on and were causing a light breeze on the back of my legs :-D. I am just glad the shop didn't have any heaters on inside, and it was a nice cool day (probably 45 in the garage). I would think the lack of airflow would affect things as you mentioned, but this was a small shop, and judging by the looks of the place I wouldn't have even expected them to have a dyno!
Overall I am quite happy with how my 196,000 mile beast performed and when money allows I will buy some software, and potentially more hardware in the future (might have to get a real job before I go crazy with a new turbo, injectors, etc...). I'll probably need to toss a new head gasket and timing chain in sometime this summer, and while I'm in there I'll clip the balance to free up a little more "lost" power.
