You can do a 2.5 or possibly a 3 in turbo back w/o removing the battery. A 2.5 in would be a LOT easier to do & the bend just has to be done a little tighter to clear the battery. Also some people have gone to a certain year's honda civic style battery which is like half the width of the saab battery :) That would give you plenty of room!

With a C900 you really cannot get low end torque due to the LH electronics & that being said you really do not want low end torque because that will kill the trans!! Adding a proper exh & IC will greatly improve off boost power as well as throttle response so it will give you better mid power but still not low end power.

I wasn't at the 300hp mark as a daily driver more like 250 ish HP. Unfortunantly these cars are getting old & as the power gets cranked up the reliability goes down :( I also took mine to drivers schools which further abused the car. I feel if you want 300 HP then things will break :( Trans, headgasket, trans are the big areas... & did I mention the trans :) Many of the areas on these cars are bulletproof however there definantly are weak spots. I purchased a viggen for that reason because I wanted my C900 to be well over 300 HP & I new it wouldn't be a good car as a daily vehicle so it's presently 375 ish HP & gets driven at the racetrack & on the weekends. Also with the mods I have done power comes on about 1,000 RPM's later & I also increased the max RPM to over 7400.

When I finally get out of debt my SPG will not be a track car any more simply due to the trans. It's such a fun car to drive but it's just the crappy trans I worry about. Scanwest will hopefully be my savior & they claim the trans can take the power. But a v8 miata REALLY sounds like fun!!!
