Rolling new timing chain in b235R engine little help?

2001 Aero, 85k miles. Bought as is. Timing chain rattling+occasional low oil light. Dropped pan,not bad, but some sludge+ pickup screen was 2/3 gagged. Bottom end is ok, just varnished to the max! I want to try to roll in a new timing chain only, without lifting or removing motor. Never done this before. Any tips? Have done motorcycle drive chains,so I can break and fasten links ok+ have RK chain tools. I see the new chains come with a master link, not a rivet link? Is that standard? Would never use them on motorcycle drive chain, only rivet type.
My plan is to break chain between 2 sprockets, clamp chain on sprockets, attach new chain, turn crank(clockwise?) roll in new, roll out old, continually moving clamps so chain stays where it should. I hope when new one in, and old one out, the links line up between the sprockets for the final master link attachment. I am afraid the chain will be too tight to mate up link w/holes at the end of roll in? Will this work? Is there a better way? I would appreciate any info. First time on this board. Long time 9000 board participant. Finally moving on from and selling my 1995 Aero, that I put 360k miles on, and it still runs aok! Never needed a timing chain on that!
