TPS for my Sonett

Hi,
I have scrounged a TPS from a new gen 9-3. It is my intent to use this to measure, what else... throttle position (which I will feed a Race Technology DL 1 data logger) on my A/X Sonett.
I am not much of an electronics geek, so help me out. The TPS seems to generate variable resitience in response to the rotation of the throttle shaft (pins 1, 3). What does pin 2 do BTW? Can I use a Voltage Divider to convert this variable resitence to a variable voltage. I would target a 0-5 volts to feed the data logger. So choosing the "other" resitor would need to cut the "13/14 volt" source to no greater than 5 volts. The data logger will draw miniscule current. Will the TPS tolerate this?
I have no wiring diagram for the new gen cars. Can someone share the OEM hookup to the TPS.
THanks, CHris
