86 9000, odd smokeing, from intake mod?

Little bit ago I put together a simple intake tract from turbo out on my 86 due to the flex hose being $$$ and discontinued, me hateing the big square airbox, and a need to fiddle with things. Basicaly a coupling goes up to a 3" piece of pipe with the nipples for the boost valve, PCV and APC hoses, then there's the AFM, then another pipe with an open element filter from a Honda Prelude stashed in the fender opening. I also removed the center muffler and the cat is open.
Now, shortly after this stuff was done, and I've only got 100 or so street miles on it, I started to see some random smokeing. Not at cold start, not under boost, not cruising on the road, but randomly. I went to lunch while ago, car more or less cold, drove 5 minutes at 55mph, and it started smokeing in the drivethrough, quit when I pulled back on the road, was not doing it at idle when I got back here. I wonder if my intake could for some reason be mucking with the PCV system? I put heavier clamps on it the other day and there was some oil pooled in it, couple tablespoon fulls at the most. Anyone have any experience with something like this?
Would an oil catch can in the PCV line help do you think? Motor runs well, fresh headgasket, only has 109K on it. Even if it is from excessive blowby, I need to find a bandaid fix, I'm not tearing this motor apart in the near future. Thanks..
