Iv'e wrapped both inner and outer parts with teflon plumbers tape and then smeared with white lithium grease. The teflon just kind of is dissolved, but there is probably a better grease choice though. The poly bushings on my 9K never sqeak, but the ones on my grand cherokee would always make noise when it was cold (below 20'), and they were both done with the tape/grease combo. The best bet would be to drill and tap the retainer and put in a zerk. Or an annual greasing using one of those hypodermic like grease gun ends.
