Manual GB?
Did you loose any flex joints? Having two would be good.
Stock ECU software?
Intake changes?
Interesting idea! The "remote" location of the second sensor provides some smoothing of the signal to 'fool' the system. I think that I have read some alternative methods with resistors or capacitors, but cannot recall any details.
I have been under the impression that the AF is driven by the #1 sensor and that the #2 sensor is there to detect a bad CAT. So you might even see an improvement of highway steady speed MPGs from the reduction of exhaust back pressure.
So you don't have an emissions test there. Keep that old DP+CAT as you probably cannot sell the vehicle without that installed.
Please keep us posted on this. Maybe there is a computer in the emissions prison library that you can use :)))))))))))))))
