It's surprisingly easy, I recently got mine on the road after it sitting for about a month while I figured out why it wouldn't start (an 80' w/89' t16), turns out I had miswired the hall effect sensor after braking the plug off he wiring harness. It's a high srung and tempermental beast, exactly what I wanted! I have yet to get an intercooler on it, no airflow for the original 900 unit, but even at base boost (3-5psi i think) it's fun. Search the 99 board, Dan and others have posted a lot. You'll need a hoist and welder, and a bit of sheet metal, and a willingness to learn as you go.
Good luck!
Zac
