I'm not sure which BB Chevy rod bolts Brad used when he gave all of us this good advice? The set I did for Brad's race car as well as many other on this BB were ARP BB Chevy 7/16". The bubble packed ARP sets come with hex nuts but we inventory them with 12 point ARP nuts which fit the Saab rod without spot facing, we just lightly chamfer the bottom of the flange on the nut. The OEM Saab rod bolts haven't magnafluxed good since their inventory was used up after GM took over so we no longer use them. Saab rod bolt shank size is 10mm (.394") and the BB Chevy's are .437". We have piloted core drills to remove most of the difference and piloted reamers to finish them. Then we hone the rod cap for clearance so it slips on and of perfectly. The work is done one side at a time in our Sunnen guide and seat machine. A good custom cylinder head shop could easily do all this for you. For any other info just shoot me an email. Dave
