Basically they are a flow through perforated pipe surround by some noise damping material, much like a glass-pack muffler.
If you call a few muffler shops in your area, I am sure that one of them has some choices of resonators in various sizes. They can cut the exhaust pipe and weld a resonator in-line under the passenger seat area, that is where the stock exhaust system had a resonator installed.
On my 1998 900SET I had about a 14-inch long resonator welded in. The whole job took about 20 minuets and cost around $50.
