LPT to HOT 9-5 conversion... Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Tue, 27 Jun 2006 23:49:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 99 9-5, 2.3lpt auto. I had to get my turbo replaced last year, did it at the dealership, so when it went the other day after only 11k it needs to be replaced... Since I had it done at the dealership, the work is being done under warrenty, but next time I might not be so lucky... My questions goes as follows. I have heard that the Garret lpt is not nearly as reliable as the Mitu that is found in the AERO HOT. Is this true? if it is, next time I have to replace my turbo, is it possible/ does it make sense to change it to the HOT? I am not really looking for a performance boost, mostly just something that will last. If I can replace it, what parts need to be changed out? I have an AERO as my loaner, and was looking at it, and most everthing seems to be the same, but ofcourse that was just after a quick once over.
