If you have a UTEC or EcuTek with Delta Dash you can switch on the fly in Subaru, the Cobb Access port also allows for this, but because it hooks up like an handheld obdII scanner, its not recomended to leave it connected or make changes will running.
A friend of mine has a flashed 1.8T (GIAC, I think) and there is some weird on/off set-up that allows the cruise control buttons to activate and deactivate.
