My dream of replacing the auto trans in my 1991 c900SE convertible is two steps closer to reality. (1) My wife said ok! (2) I received this offer and I want to understand any compatibility issues/trade-offs.
" Am parting out a 1987 900 with a GM45610 from a 1987 900S. Has smaller pinion bearing. Has 3/4th gear centering inside transmission case. Does have a trans lube drain which 1991+ non-turbo cases lack. No problems with this transmission. I could auction everything you need as a package: gear shift control rod, rubber connector, center console, transmission overhauled with new pinion bearings and synchros, good used clutch, good used flywheel, good used clutch master, slave, hydraulic line, clutch pedal "
I always heard that beginning in 91 the 5 speed was beefier. What is 3/4th gear centering?
Should I hold out for a later model?
