Does anyone with a lowered 9-5 feel this way? Come on KellyM, AeroTim, Daveship, and whomever else. I istalled H&Rs/Konis on my '03 Aero several months back, and after a "35mm drop" as spec'd by H&R, the car is almost perfect in the rear; the front however barely dropped. I can tell the difference, but it is not nearly as dramatic as the rear. In fact, I saw another '03 Aero in a parking lot and I pulled up beside him and got out to check the difference. The drop between stock and mine is barely detectable! Now I know that for the Aeros the drop is more like 25mm since the Aero is already lower, but it still seems too high.
To remedy this, I'm thinking of removing or reducing the thickness of the rubber disc that is between the front coil and the upper spring perch. I know what purpose it serves but I think at least a reduction can't hurt the function. Taliaferro says not to do this, but they think the car is already plenty low enough and cant' believe I want it lower. Once I get back under there and check my wheel travel to make sure it's ok I'm gonna try it and I'll post my results.
Factory BMW 5-series cars are lower than mine! Why do our cars sit so friggin' high to began with?!!
P.S. no I don't scrape my front lip b/c I'm careful i.e. I don't just point the car anywhere...
