I've been researching custom alloy wheels to put on my 2001 Viggen Convertible and have been very impressed with Rondell Wheels of Germany, http://www.rondell.de. The problem I encountered is that the sole US outlet (best I can determine), which is The Wheel Exchange in No. Carolina, offers only one Rondell model for SAABs as a stock item.

After much global e-legwork, I came back around to TWE and "pre-ordered" the wheels that I want. The wheels will take about two months (hopefully) to arrive. Understand, Rondell and TWE have been very helpful, just have parameters about ordering quantities, especially "specicals" etc.

The UP side is, my cost for the set from TWE is $800 + S&H (another $100), vs. more than $1300 + S&H for the same wheels from Rondell's Canadian outlet (with exchange rate figured in). The DOWN side, of course, is the WAIT.

Here's the punchline, in showing several folks in CHAT the wheels, they seem to like them...and Rondell appears to meet/exceed specs and tollerences for performance type wheels. In talking with TWE, I strongly suggested that they explore the interest of other SAABers in products they may not carry as stock, particularly since they do an OK business with SAAB owners with the limited inventory they carry. My hope is that they will.

So, if any of this interests you, I'd encourage you to visit TWE website, along with Rondell's, and if you see something you like that isn't "off the rack," let them know. I have no other motive or interest than getting these wheels for my personal vehicle but would be most appreciative for any "assistance" in that mission. Thanx!
