Then you're going to have a fun ragtop that will be closer to beating Porsches than any other recent Saab offerings.
I have a '95 900 convertible with a B234R engine and matching stage4 hardware - that's as close to a tuned Viggen as it gets. While the power is certainly there, the handling is by far not the strongest point of the car. It has every suspension mod known on this board, and handles much better than it used to in stock form. I'm even tempted to say it does better on flat ground than the hatch due to the lower centre of gravity, but throw some bumps into the mix, and the body starts to twist and rattle. Our 9-5 with a stock Aero suspension feels easier to go around corners, and much more comfortable too. New 9-3 convertibles should be much better at it.
