What this really comes down to is what your preference is. An older used car or a more recent new car. When it comes down to utility use, the 9000 has the 9-5 beat unless the 9-5 is the sport wagon. Finally if the power of the car is a deciding factor an 02/03 aero if i remember correctly is 230 hp in both manual and auto trim whereas a 9000 aero is 225 hp in manual and 200 in auto trim. On the other hand though, it is realitivly cheap to get the extra 5 hp/ 30 hp and then some on a 9000 aero to match the output of the 9-5 aero. Big benefit of the 9k aero is no sludge issue. Unfortunately i am not able to answer which is quicker. If it were me i'd be going for the 9k aero, especially if it was manual. If you want updated looks go for the 9-5 but if you like to do all the work on your own cars, the 9000 is more diy mechanic friendly.
