Hello, all!
A rev-delimitted ECU was to be introduced but initial testing showed potential hurdles:
1.) Factory hydr. tappets only work to/slightly in excess of 6500rpm. Mechanical lifters are fitted onto our applications seeking 7-8Krpm...valve springs would also need to be updated to prevent "float".
2.) the LH applications (16V) have camshafts targeting to peak at 5K rpm and a venture into higher 6K+ rpm would require a camshaft capable of working effectively in these regions.
3.)Factory engine balancing would require updating.
It might be worth looking into programmable engine management from manufacturers such as Haltech, Electromotive (http://www.EMI.cc), or Wolfe.
In some cases, these offer the advantage of complete ignition, fuel and boost control. Electomotive offers a TecII version that we have been implementing for most of our high end applications and they are very similar to the Trionic systems but allow the trial/error of different fuel or direct ignition curves via laptop/computer.
Please give us a call if you should have any questions and take care!
Best Regards,
SDI
