I've been conversing with Drupchen for a few weeks via email, and I think he's going to try to fix his car, or at least that's what he told me, and that he's not ready to sell yet, BUT WHO KNOWS?? Drupchen, you out there?
ANyhow, I was able to modify my stock VA, so I don't really need his anymore. But, to answer your question; If you stop the VA from retarding, then yes, the two pieces should be identical from what I understand, and BTW, it seems to work fine with my MSD-6 BTM setup. The dawes device can be found at http://www.3barracing.com.
However, I may have found a more cost effective solution, rather than buying the famed dawes device. I spoke with a friend of mine that did some extensive research with his Dodge turbo 2.5l shadow, and he sent me this info:
http://www.mcmaster.com part # 48935K25 (brass vacuum/pressure relief valve; catalog page# 432 at bottom) all u have to do is type the page number into the search bar. How to use: http://www.thedodgegarage.com/ -> turbo database -> 17. Map Sensor modifications to prevent overboost shutdown
Although, they use it for overboost shutdown, I think It will work in the BTM application as well, I have ordered my relief valve and as soon as I install it I'll post if your interested.
ALso, saabnet member Landjet thinks that the dawes device may have to be modified to function in this application. Any thoughts on the above info Landjet??
