Definitley a full ECU and fueling system swap is worth mentioning, I was just kind of assuming he was going the simpler route.
As far the why the lpt 2.1 makes more power than the stock 2.0 turbo... I'm just using dirty math...1 psi of boost (from a turbo operating within its effiency range) is roughly equally to 6 hp on the 2.0 block...so up 6 psi on the 2.1 should be good for as much as 176 hp (140 hp stock).. of course the turbine wheel is probably a bit more restrictive than the stock header which could hurt topend hp...but all in all a 2.1 lpt should be a bit more responsive than a stock 2.0 and have little more pull up top, though the 2.0 T is going to have a little more midrange punch with its higher torque.
