Somender Singh update

A while back someone posed the question as to wheather anyone had done the Somender Singh modification. I went to the site and checked out the technique.
I just recently had to replace a blown head gasket. I replaced the head with a head I had ported and polished for another project. Before I installed the head I cut the Somender Singh grooves. 1 in either side of the cylinder squish area, pointing to the plug (two per cylinder).
I've got a noticible increase in torque and power now. Having trouble with wheel spin in second gear. Much of this I'm attributing to the porting and polishing. I can't say if the SS grooves are adding to this at all to be sure. But, and this is a big but, I'm getting 3-6 more miles to the gallon. Considering the price of gas now, it's worth cutting the SS grooves if you have the head off.
My car is a '94 900T CommEd Convertible with hybrid turbo, red injectors, K&N cone filter, ported exhaust, 3.0bar fpr, intercooler fan.
