Quinn,
With stock CIS I am VERY surprised you can hold 15 PSI at all w/o horribly leaning out. Admittedly my b-engine has slightly different breathing requirements, but stock, I could only safely boost to about 9 PSI before leaning. I switched to a higher flowing volvo setup and still can only get 12-13PSI at most.
That said, for safety, I would definitely invest in a decent fuel/air guage. If you want to do it right, go with a wideband setup. I have a narrow band in my car and am pretty disappointed with it's performance. A narrow band o2 sensor will only tell you when you are way too lean or way too rich. You have no indication of leaning out until you are far from a proper A/F ratio. By the time the guage tells you anything the seat of the pants/ears will tell you about the same thing. The downside to the wideband is of course the cost.
Great to hear you are keeping one of the original c900's alive. I'm jealous as I have wanted to do that swap too. Hope you are enjoying the results of your work. I bet the car is a blast to drive.
