hp or torque monster then as you say, the investment may well be worthwhile. if you figure in the cost of labour for replacing multiple gearboxes, as well as down time, the stronger gears may be cheaper in the long run.
they certainly look more beefy, but does that also take care of whatever shaft flex i see people discussing vis a vis gearbox destruction? or is it just a heavier duty set of gears?
one thing you may be able to do if you cannot find a distributor or they wont ship to the usa is perhaps have someone who is doing a euro delivery pick them up for you? if they put them in the trunk and ship it over with the car, when they get the car back home then you could get your gears :-)
