I have heard it said the 310 HP at the crank is the limit of power before you see cracking of the pistons ( apparently GM saved a few $$$ in manufacturing by getting cheaper pistons than usually used in saabs) I switched mine out since i am going for 340 bhp and may get higher in the future. With a big Garrett T28, I can hang right with any new S4 right now and they are rated 340
I have the same question about the 9-5 manual gearbox and aero clutch. So far what I have seen they are pretty bullet proof- unless someone has a story for me.
Dave shhip is still using the stock clutch ( with about 400whp) till his quits, and I am watching that closely. I am changing my clutch out in the next couple of weeks and want to stay with my stock set-up drivability so I am looking for someone to tell me to go Spec but so far everyone says the Aero set-up is good for where I am headed.
