Hopefully I can help you. I may be the hooter valve but first you should check a couple of other things. Check your BCP this makes a big difference if its bad. Remove the two screws that are attached to the BCP. Now blow into the C (turbo)valve this should come out the W(wastegate) valve. If this didn't happen you have a bad BCP. Now check blow into the R(air filter) valve. This should also blow freely out the W valve. Again if this didn't work then its a bad BCP( boost control panel). Next check your O2 sensors. Be careful when removing it because their is anit-sieze on it. When removed if it has black carbon dioxide caked all over it then its probly bad. The best test for checking your O2 sensors is with the Tech 2 but I assume you do not have one. Mybe a dealer near you wouldn't mind looking at your O2 sensors as well. Now we can go to the hooter valve.
Just last week while attaching a maptun system to a 900 we had the same problem. It turned out to be a bad BCP and bad O2 sensor. Now with the Maptun system your not going to notice a huge difference at normal driving like a Abbott system but the power is much more smoother and trany safe. Hope this sovles your problems and please keep us posted.
