If your hitting the track, the miata is a great platform. Not to beat a dead horse with everyone saying this. But i've done some work for the "flying miata's" and installed alot of there parts, and have been very impressed with the handling and platform the car has to offer. However power is a problem, so a motor swap like GM mentioned would offer a far more superior and fun car w/a great power/weight ratio.. and that's what your realy after if you wanna move. And i have a supra at our shop that we put a buick 455 big block in. 92' model supra. And ohhh is it fun, close to 500 ponies, but it does do some serious damage to the car.. lots of mods to hold it in there and keep her straight. good luck
