Hey Rob,
Ugh, what a crappy situation. The only real way you'd be able to call them out is if you knew the mileage beforehand. I know my gas gauge is more of a 'hey there's gas in it, what more do want me to tell you' gauge than an accurate reading, and can fluctuate 1/4 tank back and forth. The levels you're seeing on the boost gauge are fine if the apc is stock - no worries there. When you say you have a knock, is it more of a valvetrain noise or something worse? Sitting for a season will definitely cause some clatter for a while in the top end due to lack of oil. If you had taken the car out of storage, brought it to them, and then they didn't start it for a week, you could get some noise, but it should disappear after 20-30 min. As far as the 'massive leak' they describe...I'm sure you've checked your fluid levels, any down an appreciable amount? Do a little more investigating and let us know the results, best of luck!
