I just bought and installed a neat little Autometer electronic boost/vacuum gauge - has peak function and recalibration at each start. I bought it so I can tune my boost levels to perfection and get ready for a downpipe and stage 2 ecu somewhere down the road. Car is stock currently. At idle (about 900 rpm) im getting 22 in. hg, this peaks to about 29 in. hg on deceleration. Seems like a lot of vacuum, is that normal?
My boost is peaking about 18 to 19 psi. A few months ago I adjusted my wastegate rod fearing it was boosting too high, since I had reached fuel cutoff a few times. Anyone know the stock level of max boost I should reaching just before fuel cut-out?
I don't care to reach fuel-cutout again, or damage my engine. I guess I'd like to set the wastegate rod so that when I "put my foot in it" I come to the point just before fuel cut-out.
Thanks,
Mark
