Hey guys, I have a 1999 9-3. List of upgrades includes:

-MP Performance Steering Rack Clamp/Brace
-MP Performance Rear Sway Bar
-Saab 2.5" Sport Exhaust
-3" intake mod
-Removed Silencer
-MBC+A by Jeff in ATL (amazing!)
-GFB Basic BOV (plastic DV leaked)

Yesterday, I acquired a used Subaru WRX front mount intercooler with a bunch of 3" piping from a friend for $80. The core dimensions are 20.5"x10"x2.75". Unfortunately, this intercooler exceeds the maximum dimensions for a direct-fit IC upgrade (end to end is 28"), but I am going to fabricate custom mounts out of aluminum and hopefully get it to clear the AC condenser, horn, and front bumper. My questions are:

-Is there enough space, especially on the passenger side, to fit this 3" tubing if I can cut it into pieces connected by silicon couplers to lead it to the turbo compressor?
-Being that I am currently using the stock T25, and don't plan on upgrading the DP and Turbo for a little while, is the larger than stock IC, combined with the 3" piping going to create any significant Turbo lag because of the extra space to fill?
-Is it a huge pain to move the condenser and horn to make room for the IC, and if I do move them, where to?
-If I do continue to upgrade, I will do 3" DP first, then a new Turbo. Can anyone explain the difference between a T28 and a TD-04 or have any other suggestions? I want to retain quick spool up, and I would like to retain as much of the stock fuel system as possible.
-After DP and Turbo, new ECU mandatory? I suppose one would be necessary to raise the peak boost to above 15.5 psi, but I already have an MBC+A and my aim here is to remain below 300hp to maintain drivability, reliability, costs, etc.

I know this is a lot of questions and I really appreciate everyone’s help.

-Eric
