I would go into the box in two places with the cool fluid.
1 directly on the ring gear just before it meshes with the pinion and
2 onto the gears in the main case from the upper fill area.
Exit from the lower drain area.
If you have a Quaife and are driving hard on a track where the differential is trying to differentiate under load (ie any time you are cornering while accelerating). There is a significant amount of extra heat generated, the differential can handle this but the stressed parts especially the pinion gear on the output shaft is sitting in this overheated oil and would benefit from the extra cooling.
