The mods to the 91 9KT are pretty mild compared to what I've done to other cars I've owned. Since I spun a rod bearing I had to have the crankshaft machined and well my motto is "when stock won't do" so I had the crankshaft lightened/knifedged, had Dave at Lessco lighten and balance my flyhwheel which included the Sachs Sport cover and stock disc. The block was in good condition so I had my machine shop hone the cylinders, line hone the mains, re-size and balance the connecting rods, balance the pistons, installed new piston rings, rod & main, every belt, hose, tensioner and pump was replaced, all new timing components, deleted the balance shafts etc. Through in some mild port work and a SERDI multi-angle valve job with SD's performance valve springs. I already had 3" turbo back exhaust, SD's DI/APC chip set and Cartech rising rate FPR. I broke the tranny spider gears with the T-25 turbo with T-3 60 wheel and clipped turbine (this turbo was freshened and installed on my Aero auto) To much low end torque and not enough upper mid pull to 6000rpm. I had my turbo guy put together a T04e 50 trim with .48ar exh. used the turbo manifold from the early 9Kt 2.0T. A bit of time was spent clocking the comp housing and wastegate and bracket to clear the balance shaft section of the block. When all done the car has the power range where I want it. All in all I wish I had done these mods to the later 94 on block so I could have did a T-5 conversion with better tranny and more tuneability over the old DI/APC set-up. Maybe the NIRA system is what's needed in the future. I also have to get my new in the crate tranny installed so I can drive my baby again. I also have all the parts to install my front mount intercooler and larger 2.5" tubing. No time and I'm not as young as I used to be..... Meanwhile the newly installed black Aero seats front and rear with all 4 door panels in car is looking good. Thanks Paterick from saabnet :-)

Happy Saabin
