A 103 MPH trap is a power to weight ratio capable of producing high 13 timeslips with a 2 flat short time. (Which is not that remarkable by dragstrip standards.) In other words, from a slow speed roll in first gear, your car builds speed like a 13 second car on the street. You don't have to be going fast, you just have to be going.

After years and years of these kinds of discussions I have seriously considered writing a book entitled "It's ALL about TRAP SPEED!" teaching people how to focus on their MPH improvements instead of the very unimportant (for the street anyway) measure of ET.

Don't get me wrong, ET is definitely part of the equation but for the purpose of a daily driver it's all about AREA UNDER THE CURVE!

BTW, I have owned LS1 F-bodies and a stock LS1 Camaro/Firebird will run about 102-105MPH trap at my home track in West Central Florida. Actually, box stock my 99 LS1 Trans Am A4 ran 13.8 at 102.3 MPH best stock time with a 2.1 sec 60' time.
