That makes lots of sense rustwise but many performance systems miss out the middle box and keep one at the back, so maybe that layout would function better?
When I had a JT on my old '93 CSE the bit that failed early was the flex section, not the boxes. The original flex was in wriggly tin, not stainless mesh like the replacement. It lasted 3 years. Also, the weld to the s/steel tail trim was looking a bit sick.
But I reckon 5 or 6 years must be a decent life-expectancy for the boxes. Best way to keep the same noise is to replace like with like, ie. more JT components, cost permitting. Stainless exhausts can be noisier. But you could get a 3" centre section and rear box from Abbott Racing in stainless steel, specially designed for Aeros (I'm guessing it would also fit Anniversaries or anything with an Aero body kit, by the way).
The latest system doesn't seem to be shown on the US distributors' websites to I geuss you could call them. Linbk to Abbott UK page below. Not cheap, though, expecially if you have dollars to spend rather than pounds Sterling.
I already have an older Abbott back box (thank you, ebay) and the noise level is basically unchanged but that's with an otherwise standard system.
