Johnny's for machine work. Scanwest is not a machine shop; they only repair cars. So, yeah, for the transmission, Scanwest.

Johnny's has done work for me and several friends, and Scanwest has them do all of their machine work. I was very impressed by the creative solution they came up with for my ng900 head that I mounted onto a B2x2 block.

Brad at Johnny's is super helpful and knowldedgeable. Only drawback is they sometimes promise stuff back before they can get to it. A busy shop is a good sign, IMO, though. (Seen many exotic pieces of machinery there, as well as pallets of stuff that's shipped in from afar.)

I have a friend who's big into old Mini's and likes G2 but I don't know of any first-hand experience with them.
