Manual Boost Contoller results w slushbox

I threw a manual boost controller in just for kicks. We have a 1999 9-3SE slushbox. The MBC is from Abbott.
I was able to adjust it to just under overboost. Here's what I noticed;
Throttle response is much better.
With the slushbox, the overboost protection kicks in pretty darn early.
The car is a little faster but the difference is nothing to write home about. It was fast before.
The adjustments seem sensitive to temperature so on the cold mornings in the Northeast, I can get into overboost but in the afternoon, it just barely gets past the edge of red.
I'm not real worried about the tranny as the difference in performance was about the difference between using 89 and 92 octane. I always use super with this car anyways.
I'm going to go back to using the windshield washer checkvalve in the vaccum line from the turbo to the BPC and taking off the MBC as an experiment. Perhaps I'm just used to the MBC? I'll post those results.
Hey, for $50.00 it's been fun. What it really did was make the upgraded ECU look like a better deal. I don't drive fast enough to warrent spending $800 for an ECU upgrade.
ps. Dean, you were correct about the vaccum lines to the BPC.
