Another thing to check is the engine to body ground. If the ground is not good there will be a voltage difference between the engine and the body. Any sensors that use the block as part of the electrical path will be effected by this voltage difference, and the ECU will get an incorrect input even with a good sensor.
Sensors that come to mind on my 94 9K CST are the coolant temp sensor, block temp sensor, and O2 sensor. These are all one wire sensors that use the block and ground connection as a return path. The O2 sensor has 3 wires but 2 are for the heater leaving 1 wire and the ground for the signal path.
