Yea, that is what I have heard and why I stated up to around 400bhp, the walbro 255 is probably fine and if you are going for 400-600bhp or more, the bosh unit is recommended.
Right now with a new tune I have I am running 10.5/1 at 27psi of boost on the stock oe fuel pump. If the stock one can do that well, not sure any more than the walbro is needed and since its 100 bucks more, I went with the walbro 255.
I have heard with weaker fuel pump pressure, you can start to have atomization problems and lose some power, but for me to be as rich as I am, I think the walbro for 400bhp is ok. If I put the gt3076 and go for 500bhp, the bosh will be put in... :-)
