fuel. And it really boils down to power/weight ratio's. If I can get the same amount of air volume in my 2.0/2.1/2.3 liter as a 5.0 (approximately), but the 2.x is half the weight, well then all the better, right?
Interesting article in the lates Nines (got it yesterday) on efforts toward Hydrogen based engines. Both fuel-cell based as well as gas/gasoline/methanol to hydrogen converting engines. Consensus was that fuel-cell's were ultimately better, but the hurdle of infrastructure was in the way, hence research into having on-board converters as an interim technology until the infrastucture could catch up.
